Berstein Waterfall

This is going to be a short one today. I used this trip as a quick channel update. Shortly after this hike we went on a few longer trips which I posted to YouTube but never transferred over to the blog. That's because following those trips and the subsequent video editing, I not only got seriously bad covid, I also sustained an injury to my back that's taken the better part of a year to heal from. I'm just starting to move around normally again so I'm hoping to have some updates for everyone soon. This post will be back dated to when I first posted the video but it's currently June 2025 for transparency. Thanks for the patience and for all those still watching my videos, we hit over 1,000 subs recently and I'm very thankful considering I just do this for a way to relax!

As far as this hike is concerned, there are two sections of the preserve. The part marked with a sign has a weird parking area at the end of someone's back yard. Slightly awkward. There's a nice stream to follow and a fenced off area with old farm equipment rusting away. The trail ends by a concrete teepee and if you didn't knw any better you' think that was it.

Located up the road is a fork with a small pull off and a chain link fence. This was open when I visited but I've heard it may be closed at times. A small trail leads back to a stone house or tower with a small rope to climb down. This is where you'll face one of the most impressive water falls this close to the Connecticut shoreline! This takes only minutes to reach and is absolutely worth the visit if you're nearby.
